Scott D. Metz
Attorney Scott D. Metz is a lifelong resident of the Fox Valley. He graduated from Oshkosh North High School in 1974. He then obtained his Bachelor of Business Administration degree at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1978 and his law degree at the University of Wisconsin-Madison Law School in 1981.
Attorney Metz has practiced law in Appleton, Wisc., since 1981. He obtained partnership status while working for Bachman, Cummings and McIntyre from 1981 to 1990. In 1990, he began a law partnership with Attorney Steven P. Krause, a partnership that continues today.
Since 1981, Attorney Metz has practiced primarily in the areas of personal injury law and family law. He has gained a reputation as a determined advocate for his clients.
Attorney Metz is a member of the Outagamie County Bar Association, State Bar of Wisconsin Association and Wisconsin Association for Justice. He is active in the community, volunteering time with the St. Joseph Church, American Legion Baseball and other worthwhile organizations.
Attorney Metz and his wife, Marie, have three adult sons, Justin, Jason and Jeremy.
Steven P. Krause
A Wisconsin native having been born in Wausau and raised in Stratford, Attorney Steven P. Krause moved to the Fox Valley area immediately after obtaining his law degree from Marquette University in 1976. He initially obtained a position as an associate in an Appleton law firm but established his own solo practice in 1983. Attorney Scott D. Metz joined him in partnership in 1990.
Attorney Krause concentrates his practice in the areas of Real Estate, Business Organization and Advice, Estate Planning and Probate matters. He is a member of the Outagamie County Bar Association and State Bar of Wisconsin.
Through the years, Attorney Krause has been a member of various local service organizations and has served on the boards of directors of various local organizations. Considerable time on his part has been devoted to youth sports programs – both boys and girls – in softball, baseball and basketball.
Brian was born and raised in Appleton and is a 2001 graduate of Appleton North High School. Prior to attending law school, Attorney Krause graduated magna cum laude from the University of St. Thomas (St. Paul, Minn.) with degrees in both finance and economics. While at the University of St. Thomas, Brian was a pitcher on the baseball team and received All‐Conference and All‐Midwest Region (NCAA Division III) recognition his sophomore through senior seasons and was selected as the 2005 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Year.
Attorney Krause graduated from the John Marshall Law School (Chicago,Ill.), cum laude, in 2009. During law school, Brian was a Dean M. Herzog Moot Court Octo‐Finalist and received the CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Federal Income Taxation, Estates and Trusts, Federal Estate and Gift Tax, and Payment Systems.
Attorney Krause is admitted to practice in both the State of Illinois and the State of Wisconsin.
